Who We Are
We are a very dynamic research group with particular focus in computational genomics at the MRC/UVRI, Uganda and London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, UK with strong partnership with organisations such H3ABioNet and H3Africa and other research groups. TACG is open to collaboration globally.
TACG largely focuses on the genetic impact of non-communicable diseases in Africa. The group applies statistical and computational methods to understanding the genetic mechanisms underlying susceptibility to complex diseases in African ancestry populations.
Members of our group develop expertise in a wide range of methods including Genome Wide Association Study (GWAS), Polygenic Risk Score (PRS), fine mapping, functional analysis and Mendelian randomisation studies to understand the genetic determinants of diseases in African populations
